Max Wakefield
Scott Mansell started karting aged 5, winning the Chasewater Championship in 1996 and coming 3rd in the British kart GP at Silverstone aged only 12. Formula Honda (600cc) was the next move up to cars and having had only 2 hours in the car beforehand, he qualified 5th and moved up to 3rd at Oulton Park.

In his second race in the Monoposto championship (cars upto 1200cc) at Mallory Park, Scott qualified on pole, beating cars with twice his engine capacity. The 3rd, 4th and 5th races of the mini championship were held at Brands Hatch with Scott coming 3rd in all three races leaving him 2nd overall in the championship.

Max Wakefield's love affair with motorsport started at the tender age of seven on two wheels. After working his way through many different categories of two wheel racing he discovered his vocation for 4 wheel racing almost by chance.

After early stunning drives in Palmer Audi and Formula Honda, Max graduated to F3000 in January 2001. The final dramatic piece of Max's motorsport jigsaw is now in place with him taking up the hot seat of the Zig-Zag Mansell Benetton F1 car for the season ahead.
